Visual Storytelling with Chloe

Chloe Tarah Horder is an accomplished videographer and photographer who specialises in capturing the essence of soul-led brands to amplify their message. With a unique style of storytelling that infuses authenticity and heart into her work, she has gained an abundance of national and international recognition, alongside enjoying what she loves most!

Chloe’s work priorities embodied facilitation and co-creation. Her work in the intimate event and retreat space has led to her becoming a highly sought-after, co-facilitator and mentor to those seeking to witness and create with meaning. Beneath all of her success, Chloe is the most kind-hearted, genuinely loveable woman who shines her own essence of empowerment, everyday. Read below to learn more about this inspiring woman.
How long have you been a photographer and videographer?

I've been a photographer/videographer for around 8 years now. My work started in the commercial space, indie pilots and films and eventually moved into touring landscapes with incredible holistic entrepreneurs. It's been a massive journey to now, where I co-create predominiately in sacred space with retreat facilitators, coaches, healers and business owners. I've had the privilege of witnessing some incredible moments, from birth to personal rebirth and breakthroughs - there's not a single shoot I've walked away from in the last few years where I don't feel in awe of the incredible work I get to do.

What it is about women’s retreats you love documenting?

In 2020 I decided I wanted to focus on retreats and scaling heart-centric businesses with content that was aligned and infused with their essence. I've been welcomed into so many different kinds of sacred space - from somatic healing, tantric business retreats, teaching containers such as yoga, breathwork, hypnotherapy and NLP to weekend getaways where the only agenda is to unwind from the world and reconnect to self.
I would say across my career I'm verging close to witnessing somewhere around 80 retreats at this point, and no two have ever been the same.
What I love in particular about women's retreats is the ability to create sisterhood bonds within such a short space of time. To see women who normally hold the world on their shoulders soften and surrender and allow themselves to just be themselves, for once. To witness them reach their edges, meeting or acknowledging their most challenging moments that lead to the most immense personal breakthroughs that they then get to take into their home lives thereafter and the ripple effect that has. I love how raw and human everyone can become.
There's something so honest about spending time with other women who are without judgement and being able to land in what that honesty mirrors back.
You’re currently working on some online offerings, what are these?

Yes! It's been a long time coming but I have opened a waitlist for my new program Tap Into Sacred - How to Create in Sacred Space. A guidebook for photographers and videographers who want to create in the realm of sacred space, retreats, holistic festivals, ceremony, birth etc. and also for facilitators who want to understand how they can capture content with reverence to scale what they are doing in the world.
There is so much magic present within potent events and containers and that essence is hard to replicate outside of these circles, so being able to honour these moments while also acknowledging the business of creating in-demand brands within this realm is something I am beyond excited to share.

Tell us about your experience of pregnancy:

Absolutely, WILD! I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting, but pregnancy has humbled me like nothing else I've ever experienced.
From moving through the radical changes of my body and mind and also completely transforming everything about my life in the meantime - picking a place to finally call home (on the other side of the country from our family and friends) after being nomadic for 1.5 years; transitioning my service based work and honouring this season of honestly, unknowing. I feel very much like I am beginning again and it is equal parts terrifying and liberating to lean into that edge.
I feel like I felt so equipped to navigate this change with the work I do, but there's really nothing to prepare you into this initiation. It's beyond world's. What women are capable of never ceases to blow me away.
You are positively glowing in our designs, which is your favourite style?

I have been a huge Daughters of India fan-girl for so long! The Kyra's we're a staple through my travels last year but right now I absolutely adore the Uma White Maxi and Nora Maxi in Primrose. They are so stunning, versatile and honestly made for the transition of maiden to mother and beyond.
The beauty in these cuts is that they remain equally flattering regardless of whether you are pregnant. I know these dresses will grow with me through the next chapter and beyond and as someone who loves a sustainable wardrobe, that's so special to know I have these to throw on for the next adventure.
